What Is Proximity Key?

by A proximity key (also named Push Button Start.Keyless Access.Keyless Entry, Smart Key, Keyless Go or Push-to-Start) is a device that permits a keyless door access and engine igniting in your vehicle.

When you’re within the relevant distance, the keyless access key interacts through radio frequency waves with your immobiliser to open and lock doors and even to crank the car engine having the key in the pocket.

30 years ago in 1998, Mercedes-Benz was the first to implement this system in the market.

At present, automotive drivers can take advantage of proximity keys and push to start ignition on most auto motive models and use functions such as auto counter theft protection, automatic door closing or opening, mirror adjustment, power windows and many more.
